President’s Welcome Address

It is a profound honor to be entrusted with the responsibilities of this office. Alongside my esteemed executive team, we are steadfastly committed to serving the association with integrity and dedication, ensuring that we faithfully uphold and promote the ideals of the Ibadan City Academy (ICA).I would like to take this moment to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions of the past executives of ICAOSA-NA, whose efforts have laid a solid foundation, and I eagerly anticipate building on their legacy to achieve even greater heights.

Our vision is to significantly enhance ICAOSA-NA's role in the multifaceted development of our alma mater. We aspire to establish ICAOSA-NA as a reliable and influential partner for all stakeholders connected to ICA, particularly focusing on the students of the institution. By reinforcing our existing relationships and actively cultivating new alliances, we intend to create a nurturing and empowering environment that fosters learning, encourages intellectual growth, and inspires students to pursue their aspirations with fervor.

To realize this ambitious objective, we will concentrate on several key pillars, with the unwavering support and engagement of every member:

• Membership Growth: A considerable number of former ICA students located in North America may not currently feel a sense of belonging to the association, potentially due to a lack of visibility or effective communication regarding our core values and mission. In response, we will implement targeted outreach initiatives designed to engage these alumni, sharing our compelling vision for the institution and its future. I am confident that a significant number of individuals will be eager to contribute to our mission if we effectively communicate our initiatives and showcase tangible successes. I invite all members to join us in this vital effort to expand our membership base.

• Human Infrastructure Development: As a keen follower of the ICAOSA projects ICAOSA projects and programs, I have recognized that there has been a predominant focus on physical infrastructure and the enhancement of facilities within the school. While these initiatives are undoubtedly laudable, it is equally essential to prioritize human infrastructure. Our objective is to ignite a passion within students, encouraging them to dream ambitiously and equipping them with the tools necessary to realize those dreams. Simultaneously, we are committed to fostering the professional growth of our educators, enabling them to employ impactful teaching practices that resonate with and inspire learners. This initiative will be designated as "The Dare To Dream" project, symbolizing our collective commitment to nurturing dreams into reality.

• Structured Processes: Organizations that are equipped with robust structured processes typically excel both in the immediate and over the long term. Such processes guarantee that operational efficacy is not solely dependent on individual efforts but is instead bolstered by a systematic approach facilitating continuous improvement. We are resolutely committed to establishing structured processes for ICAOSA-NA that will serve as the backbone for the ongoing growth and vitality of the association. Currently, we are conducting a thorough review of our bylaws with the intention of fortifying the organization and developing a structured approach to decision-making that supports our strategic objectives and fosters sustainable growth.

• Registration as a Not-for-Profit Organization: In our endeavor to strengthen our organizational framework, we are diligently pursuing 501(c)(3) registration as an officially recognized not-for-profit organization. This designation will provide critical advantages, ensuring that all charitable contributions made to the association are eligible for tax deductions. We anticipate successfully completing this registration process by the conclusion of the first quarter of 2025, thereby enhancing our legitimacy and ability to attract support for our initiatives.

This website will serve as a dynamic platform to communicate vital developments within our community and share impactful initiatives associated with ICAOSA-NA alongside the global network of Old students of ICA. It will also provide an invaluable channel for informing association members about the various development programs taking place within our alma mater, with particular emphasis on those that are sponsored by ICAOSA-NA.

I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Global Executive Leadership team for their unwavering support, and I look forward to collaborating closely with all stakeholders to further develop and enrich our alma mater for the benefit of current and future students.
