Mr Toks Balogun
My name is Toks Balogun, and I attended our esteemed institution from September 1982 to July 1987. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Ilorin and subsequently earned a postgraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Benin.
After completing my education, I commenced my career in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria, specifically with Shell Nigeria, where I served as a Health, Safety, and Environment professional for 13 years, from 1993 to 2006. In 2006, I relocated to the Middle East to advance my career in the same sector with Qatar Petroleum. In 2013, I accepted an offer from Atkins Consulting, a firm located in Canada and subsequently moved to North America with my family.
Speaking of family, I consider myself an endangered species at home, as I am the sole male member of my household, which includes my wife and four daughters, who bring immense joy and vibrancy to my life. I am currently semi-retired and work as a consultant while also serving as a full-time pastor at a local church in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I am honored to give back to the institution that significantly contributed to my academic development.
